Build this traffic light and learn how electronic circuits control markings. Traffic light lamps operate using an intelligent digital electronic system. In digital electronic systems there are only two kinds of signals, activation and deactivation. In manual mode, each time you press the button, a signal of activation passes to a measuring circuit that counts in binary numbers of 2 bit (0 and 1) from zero to three. This counter is connected to the lamps. Zero sends a signal to the red LED lamp, one sends a signal to the yellow one, two to the green one and three again to the orange LED lamp. When you press the button again, the counter returns to zero. In automatic mode, a separate timing circuit sends a signal to the measurement circuit every two seconds, which causes the lamps to change automatically. 2 AAA batteries required (not included).
