MODE OF OPERATION: There is a microscopic integrated circuit (IC) inside the magic circuit module. The integrated circuit detects when a conductive medium, such as the pencil line, connects the two terminals, creating a closed circuit. The pencil line contains graphite, which consists of carbon and conducts electricity very well. When the rings touch the two dots at each end of a line on the circuit board, the circuit is completed, triggering the buzzer and the lamp.
